The Advantages of a Split System

bryant ductlessSplit systems have been growing in popularity over the last few years due to the number of advantages they provide over traditional HVAC systems. A split system is a heating and cooling system consisting of one unit outside that houses the condenser/ compressor and one or more units inside for air-handling. Let's take a look at the advantages of split systems: Split systems have been growing in popularity over the last few years due to the number of advantages they provide over traditional HVAC systems. A split system is a heating and cooling system consisting of one unit outside that houses the condenser/ compressor and one or more units inside for air-handling. Split systems are also one option commonly referred to as a ductless system. Let's take a look at the advantages of split systems:

1. Flexible - Split systems allow you to create zones with different heating or cooling set-ups in your home. You can also set it up by individual room where each room has a separate thermostat and is controlled independently from the others.
2. Environmentally-friendly - Split systems are environmentally-friendly with many Energy Star options that reduce your carbon footprint by using less energy. Saving energy also means saving money on your utility bill.
3. Ductless - Split systems are ductless. This advantage is also one that saves money on your utility bill. In traditional systems, as warm air moves through ducts, some of the heat is lost as the air is blown through your home. The same happens with cool air moving through ductwork. This loss of heat or cool as air moves through ducts translates to significant loss of energy. Split systems remove this problem by not using a duct system.
4. Air Quality - There are two ways split systems offer better air quality over traditional systems. The first is by not using ducts. Ductwork is a collecting space for dust, pollen, pet dander, bacteria and other grime that you don't want to breathe. The second way is that split systems include a multi-filtration system that removes dust and debris that cleans the air before it is blown out into the home. This makes split systems a great choice if you have someone who suffers from asthma or allergies in your home.
5. Quiet - Split systems tend to be much quieter than traditional systems. With the louder mechanics of the system housed in the outside unit, that means less noise inside. For traditional systems, all of the moving pieces and parts that are housed indoors create much more noise.
